THE HAILERS

 BIO

THE HAILERS were originally formed by singer/songwriter/guitarist Robert Mills (formerly  named "The Loud Hailers") in his native Wales/UK, where he released several albums featured on S4C and BBC television and radio and for three consecutive years, the winning recipient of the Welsh Rock & Pop Awards. With Robert's geographic move, the band has since evolved into the current U.S. ensemble which includes bassist and songwriting partner, April Carson, known for her presence in The Wild Hairs, Misguided and Ron Keel's Fair Game.

The Hailers are living proof of “The Spirit of Music”. Their music manifests an energy in each given performance, bringing the audience a physical/emotional response to art. Their shows embody an authenticity that comes from the unwavering dedication to their craft. They will hail upon you their eclectic enriched cultural influences with songs that are fun, original, confident, dramatic and uncompromising, taking the best elements of classic rock and bringing it to today’s times.  Their music will give you a sense of familiarity from the Celtic influences of U2, to the harmonies of Fleetwood Mac to the sultry psychedelic rock of Pink Floyd.

The band is currently being featured on local college radio receiving airplay of two songs from their most recent CD Thirteen Souls (produced by legendary platinum producer/engineer David Devore, whose credits include Neil Young, Fleetwood Mac, Santana, Foreigner, Niles Lofgren and REO Speedwagon). Their single, "Luanne" received rave reviews from music critics and is currently in the top ten of the Celtic Charts while their song "Motion of Change" continues to be featured on radio throughout Europe, including, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Spain.  In addition, their upcoming November 2017  CD release “Escape to Your Heart” (recorded live), features The Hailers in their true element doing what they do best, expanding their music into new territories with a valid realism not manufactured.

The Hailers have managed to prevail in what has been a deflated music industry, with their honesty, ambition, strong work ethic and signature sound. Their respect for good songwriting and the recognition for each member’s talent is what drives the band forward. Their organic approach to the music and their connection with their audience is what keeps fans coming back for more and in turn, the making of successful shows. The Hailers have performed at numerous venues throughout Southern California including The Saban Theater, The Canyon Club, The Rose in Pasadena, The Cap Theatre, The Jon Lovitz Theatre, House of Blues, Paladinos, The Maverick Saloon, On the Rox, The Bravery, BeX Bar, Molly Malones, Joes Great American Bar & Grill, The Black Rose Tavern, The Malibu Inn, and many more, giving them the opportunity to manifest a strong fan base. Since the band's inception, in addition to headlining their own shows, they have been the support band for other headliner acts, such as The Marshall Tucker Band, The Motels, John Kay & Steppenwolf, The Alarm, The Babys, Felix Cavaliere & The Rascals, Big Country, Psychedelic Furs, John Martin, Dr. Feelgood, Taj Mahal, Toto and the Fabulous Thunderbirds.

Robert “Lordhailer” Mills – Guitar & Lead Vocals

Originally from Cardiff, Wales, Robert’s career expands for three decades as a frontman, guitarist, songwriter, producer and arranger.

Robert has established an extensive list of album credits, television and featured films including performances with Foghat, Taj Mahal, Killing Time, National Anthem and Red Sharks. He was also for three consecutive years, the winning recipient of the Welsh Rock & Pop Awards.

His teamed effort with Welsh recording artist Meic Stevens produced a compilation of Robert’s songs performed in the Welsh language and featured on S4C, BBC television and radio, receiving outstanding reviews throughout Britain and Europe.

Upon leaving Wales, Robert first spent time touring in Holland and then later to Spain where he spent several years, embracing many cultural and musical styles. This is where he was introduced to what the Spanish refer to as ‘the Duende” (having soul, a heightened state of emotion, expression and authenticity), this feeling and philosophy is what motivates him and is well-defined in his unique songwriting.

A native of Southern California, April grew up in a musical family where she was introduced to many musical instruments before making bass guitar her instrument of choice.

April hit the Los Angeles music scene with popular female bands, Misguided, Ron Keel’s Fair Game and The Wild Hairs.  She has had and extensive recording and touring career both as a performer and as support act for artists such as Earl Slick, Billy Idol, Anthrax, Suicidal Tendencies, DAD, Stone, Killing Time and many local West Coast blues artists.

Throughout her career, April has established herself as a solid bass player, key songwriter and vocalist, whose songs have been featured on radio throughout the United States and in the top ten playlist throughout Scandinavia, Germany and Belgium. She continues to hone her songwriting and performance skills on The Hailers recent CD release Thirteen Souls.

Ron's philosophy is to go where ever the music takes you, which has led him to currently contributing keys and vocals to The Hailers.

Lori Herek – Backing Vocals

Lori comes from a theatrical background.

Working closely with her former husband/producer on the development of numerous film projects at their Disney offices in Burbank, California, Lori’s primary focus was always on the music contributions to the projects.

During this time, Lori met the notable talents of Mark Schoenfeld and Barrie McPherson which in turn led her to the opportunity to work closely with them in the creation, development and production of the original staged reading of Brooklyn the Musical which, inevitably found its way to Broadway to become a #1 musical on Broadway.

Lori calls music her religion and when given the opportunity to join with like-minded artists The Hailers, she embraced the chance to fulfill a dream on her bucket list…to be a singer in a rock-n-roll band.

Adrena Jensen - Backing Vocals

Adrena was born and raised in Southern California and at an early age was given the opportunity to perform on the Mickey Mouse Show, belting out Al Jolson songs and astonishing her audience. She also performed on the Gong Show, receiving the highest overall score for her performance by judges Clifton Davis, Jaye P. Morgan & Milt Kamen. She would then go on to sing demos for Sonny Bono; perform at the USO in Hollywood and at the Improv with Jay Leno hosting.
